Senior Data Platform Engineer

Job Description

Forter is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join its Data Platform Team. In this role, the engineer will design and implement tools, systems, and frameworks for effective data management across the organization. This position offers the chance to work at the intersection of technology and business, contributing to data quality, compliance, and governance initiatives.

As a member of the Data Platform team, the engineer will collaborate with stakeholders across the company, including software engineers, analysts, researchers, product teams, and legal experts. The goal is to promote a culture of effective data engineering practices and drive the adoption of tools and processes to improve data consumption efficiency and quality across teams. The engineer will take ownership of designing, implementing, and delivering tools, processes, and initiatives that enhance data engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient data infrastructure solutions.
• Lead projects that require coordination across engineering, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
• Act as a liaison across multiple teams to drive alignment on data engineering initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption and integration of solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the availability and performance of our systems.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience in managing large data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Java/Kotlin.
• Proven experience with distributed systems and data-intensive applications.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Strong knowledge of data systems, including relational and non-relational data stores.
• Experience with big data tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink or Snowflake).
