Job Description

Sotheby's is seeking a VP of Capital Markets to join Sotheby’s Financial Services (SFS). This role is pivotal in evolving SFS into a leading tech-enabled lending platform. The VP will participate in designing and implementing SFS’s funding framework and introducing a new asset class to capital markets.

The ideal candidate should possess an entrepreneurial attitude and be capable of analytical thinking, narrative building, and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative findings. They should also be comfortable working with Executive Leadership and collaborating cross-functionally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the design and implementation of SFS’s long-term financing and capital markets strategy.
  • Executing various financing transactions, including warehouse facilities and securitizations.
  • Preparing marketing materials and leading diligence processes.
  • Performing analyses and creating financial models to drive capital markets intelligence.
  • Interacting with and maintaining relationships with investors.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with external advisors.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, management, accounting, economics, statistics, information science or similar (MBA a plus).
  • 7+ years of experience in a Capital Markets role for a lending business/fintech platform, Financial Services, Investment Banking, Consulting, or Business Analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling.
  • Understanding of capital markets, securitization/ABS markets, corporate finance, and lending P&L.
  • Experience structuring and executing financing transactions, including securitizations.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Excellent excel skills.
