Job Description
Notion is seeking a Commercial Counsel to support its cross-functional partner teams and growing sales team in the Americas. The ideal candidate will be excited about Notion's passionate user base and interested in joining a dedicated cross-functional team that engages with customers, community, and vendors. This role is based in New York and requires in-person presence for two anchor days (Mondays & Thursdays) and a majority of the week in the office.
What this role involves: - Providing day-to-day commercial legal support to the Notion Sales team in the Americas, including negotiation of customer subscription agreements.
- Independently identifying creative solutions with a business-centric mindset.
- Supporting procurement and requesting business teams on negotiation of vendor agreements.
- Working with various global partner teams on a wide range of special projects that require legal support.
- Creating and maintaining enablement materials such legal playbooks, FAQs, training, and self-service materials for the Sales team and other relevant cross-functional partners.
What company is looking for: - Admitted to the New York Bar or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel.
- 7+ years of combined experience practicing as a commercial attorney within a law firm or software technology company, including 3+ years in-house commercial legal experience at a software technology company.
- Ability to confidently and independently manage and negotiate SaaS agreements with a wide variety of customers.
- Strong understanding of cloud services and general SaaS business practices.
- Resilience, resourcefulness, the ability to directly interact and build meaningful relationships and trust with internal and external clients and leaders.
- Experience negotiating with technology and professional services vendors.
- Excellent drafting, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence solutions in a work setting.
