Job Description
GitLab, an open core software company, is seeking an Associate Support Engineer to join their Engineering department. This role involves interacting with customers, troubleshooting performance problems, collaborating with the Product team, and contributing to the codebase. The Support Engineer will also contribute to documentation and improve support processes.

The role involves:
  • Supporting Self-managed and GitLab.com customers via tickets, merge requests, email, and video conferencing.
  • Collaborating with Product, Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success, and Sales Teams.
  • Creating and updating documentation.
  • Participating in on-call rotations for emergency support.

Requirements:
  • Experience in managing customer-facing cases.
  • Basic Linux systems knowledge.
  • Basic familiarity with scripting languages (Ruby or Bash).
  • Basic understanding of Git.
  • Ability to communicate technical topics to customers and coworkers.
