Job Description
VGW, an interactive entertainment company, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Technology team in Sydney. This role focuses on client-side game development with some service-side math model development within the game studio team. The engineer will have opportunities to collaborate across other parts of the stack, like DevOps and observability.
Role Involves:
- Client-side game development using TypeScript and PixiJS.
- Service-side math model development using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to prototype and implement features.
- Ensuring product features are delivered effectively.
Requirements:
- Deep working experience with client-side web development technologies such as TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Understanding of client-server communication patterns and standards.
- Experience with WebGL technologies such as PixiJS or Three.js (advantageous).
- Experience with game engines like Godot, Unity, or Unreal (bonus).
- Well-rounded software engineering practices including writing clean code, automated tests, and documentation.
- Understanding of cloud development fundamentals (AWS).
- Containerization experience (Docker and/or Kubernetes).
- Strong fundamental knowledge of OO vs Functional programming paradigms.
