Job Description
Vercel is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Legal team. This role involves partnering with Engineering, Product, Design, and Security teams to provide legal support throughout the product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be conversant in both engineering and sales and will play a pivotal role in advancing Vercel's product and go-to-market initiatives.
What this role involves:
- Serving as a point of contact for legal issues during product development.
- Building scalable processes to ensure customer trust in products.
- Supporting product readiness by addressing privacy, data security, and other legal areas.
- Providing legal support to sales and procurement, including agreement negotiation.
- Drafting and maintaining templates and agreements.
- Addressing novel issues and special projects.
Requirements:
- Admitted to the California Bar or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel exception.
- 8+ years of legal experience, including 4+ years of in-house commercial and product legal experience.
- Computer science degree or technical background in software engineering.
- Experience counseling product and engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of cloud services and SaaS business practices.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Strong judgment and risk-assessment skills.
- Ability to manage and negotiate technology agreements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
