Job Description
LivePerson is seeking an SRE Director to lead the strategy and execution of its global cloud infrastructure reliability and performance. This role involves driving cloud migration and next-gen platform architecture, reporting directly to SVP-level leadership, and collaborating with engineering, product, and security teams. The SRE Director will lead and scale multiple global DevOps teams supporting critical infrastructure and platform services.Responsibilities include:
  • Leading and scaling a high-performing SRE team supporting LivePerson’s Cloud Migration & Architecture initiatives (GCP/AWS).
  • Partnering with Product, Platform, and Security Engineering to ensure resilience, scalability, and observability.
  • Designing and implementing SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
  • Owning the incident response lifecycle.
  • Developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD tooling, and automated runbooks.
  • Driving adoption of modern reliability practices.
  • Contributing to cloud modernization strategy.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and growing a team of talented SREs and cloud engineers.
Requirements include:
  • 10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles, including 4+ years in leadership.
  • Proven success leading multiple DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering teams during cloud migration or platform modernization efforts.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS a plus), Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus/Grafana, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or programming (Python, Go preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with production incident management at scale.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, fault tolerance, performance engineering, and modern monitoring practices.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience building high-trust, high-autonomy engineering cultures.
  • A strong sense of quality, personal responsibility, and a passion for development.
