Systems Engineer II (Viator)

Job Description

Viator, a Tripadvisor company, is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join its Engineering Platform Team. This role is within the Developer Experience (DevX) team, focusing on providing developers with the necessary tools, processes, and environment to maximize productivity. The ideal candidate will evangelize DevOps and DevX culture, driving innovation across the engineering team. They will collaborate with product engineers and product owners to co-design solutions that balance feature delivery and quality.Role involves:

• Ensuring developers have the right tools and processes.
• Evangelizing DevOps and DevX culture.
• Collaborating with product engineers and product owners.
• Co-designing appropriate solutions.

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience as a software or systems engineer.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to guide and mentor team members.
• Experience with security tooling, automation, scripting, and CI/CD (a plus).
• Experience with a DevOps approach for delivery and operations (a plus).
• Experience developing AWS or other cloud native applications.
• Scripting (shell or python) or object-oriented language experience.
