Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking an Expert Network Engineer to join their team. This role involves developing and maintaining functional and secure networks, mentoring a technical team, troubleshooting network issues, and optimizing networks for users. The ideal candidate is passionate about security and data protection.Responsibilities include:
- Configuring and installing network devices and services.
- Performing network maintenance and system upgrades.
- Monitoring performance and ensuring system availability.
- Providing Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting.
- Working within established configuration and change management policies.
- Selecting and implementing security tools, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on BGP, firewalls, and IPSec VPNs.
- Strong hands-on experience of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and network security principles.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in resolving network issues.
- Familiarity with firewall technologies (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, etc.).
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSec VPN tunnels.
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl) for automation and monitoring tasks.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
- Ready to work in 24x7 rotational model.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 to 8 years of experience in designing and implementing network solutions.
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
- CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued).
