Job Description
Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking a Sr Systems Support Engineer to manage SSL/TLS certificates and ensure secure communication across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SSL/TLS protocols, experience with ITSM tools like Service Now, and excellent communication skills.Altera is committed to the growth and development of its associates and offers an equal opportunity work environment.Responsibilities:
  • Manage the procurement, deployment, renewal, and revocation of SSL/TLS certificates.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all certificates in use across the organization.
  • Monitor certificate expiry dates and proactively manage renewals.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure certificates are correctly installed and configured.
  • Troubleshoot SSL-related issues.
  • Implement automation for certificate issuance and renewal.
  • Provide documentation, training, and guidance on SSL best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in system administration or support engineering.
  • Basic understanding of SSL/TLS and how certificates are used for secure communication.
  • Comfortable using command line and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Strong experience managing SSL certificates across diverse environments.
  • Familiarity with web servers, load balancers (F5), and DNS.
  • Understanding of SSL/TLS protocols, HTTPS, and PKI fundamentals.
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as Service desk/ServiceNow and PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Availability to work in a 24x7 environment (9 Hours shift).
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
