Job Description
Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking a Sr Systems Support Engineer to manage SSL/TLS certificates and ensure secure communication across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SSL/TLS protocols, experience with ITSM tools like Service Now, and excellent communication skills.Altera is committed to the growth and development of its associates and offers an equal opportunity work environment.
Responsibilities: - Manage the procurement, deployment, renewal, and revocation of SSL/TLS certificates.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all certificates in use across the organization.
- Monitor certificate expiry dates and proactively manage renewals.
- Work with internal teams to ensure certificates are correctly installed and configured.
- Troubleshoot SSL-related issues.
- Implement automation for certificate issuance and renewal.
- Provide documentation, training, and guidance on SSL best practices.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in system administration or support engineering.
- Basic understanding of SSL/TLS and how certificates are used for secure communication.
- Comfortable using command line and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell).
- Strong experience managing SSL certificates across diverse environments.
- Familiarity with web servers, load balancers (F5), and DNS.
- Understanding of SSL/TLS protocols, HTTPS, and PKI fundamentals.
- Experience with ITSM tools such as Service desk/ServiceNow and PowerBI.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Availability to work in a 24x7 environment (9 Hours shift).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
