Lube Technician

Job Description

Sioux Area Metro (SAM) by Via, South Dakota’s largest transportation provider, is seeking a Lube Technician to maintain buses and equipment. The Lube Technician will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on buses, automotive equipment, and shop equipment. This role involves working with other maintenance workers, drivers, and transportation supervisors, as well as maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors.Responsibilities:

• Direct highly varied and complex operations related to vehicle and equipment service
• Repair and/or replace any subsystem associated with heavy, medium, and/or light duty SAM coaches and automotive equipment
• Work with other maintenance workers, drivers, and transportation supervisors
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors

Requirements:

• Knowledge of the design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems and subsystems of SAM coaches and related shop equipment
• Able to work on their feet eight hours per day, lift 100 pounds, and carry parts, equipment, and supplies
• Excellent manual dexterity
• High school diploma or GED equivalent, including trade or vocational school. Additional training at manufacturer’s schools, courses, or seminars is a plus.
• Hold a valid SD driver’s license
• Able to obtain a CDL permit
• Able to pass a pre-employment physical
• Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
• Able to apply in person at the Sioux Area Metro office
