Job Description
DRW, a diversified trading firm, is seeking a Natural Gas Trading Analyst to join its North America Energy Commercial Operations team. This role involves providing daily support to the Energy trading and origination teams, with a focus on Natural Gas.DRW values autonomy and innovation, operating with its own capital and at its own risk. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of physical natural gas and electricity transaction types, as well as experience with ETRM systems.
Responsibilities: - Daily reporting and validation of P&L, valuation, position, and risk for the NA Natural Gas desks.
- Providing direct support to traders, schedulers, and originators on position management and trade bookings.
- Becoming a subject matter expert of the firm’s proprietary systems and 3rd party ETRM.
- Interacting with other departments on problem resolution and testing of new trade structures.
- Supporting structured origination transactions and recommending booking methodology.
- Coordinating with global commodity teams to ensure consistency of trade valuation and modeling.
Requirements: - 3+ years of experience in middle office functions supporting physical and financial Natural Gas or Power trading.
- Firm understanding of physical natural gas and/or power infrastructure and market dynamics.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with databases, SQL, APIs, and prior python coding experience are all preferred.
- Firm understanding of financial valuation concepts.
- Experience with third party ETRMs (Endur/OpenLink preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or material equivalent exposure.
