Job Description

Lush is seeking an Assistant Manager for their Galeries d'Anjou location in Montreal. The Assistant Manager will support the Shop Manager in all business areas, ensuring a strong customer and staff experience, operational excellence, and exceeding sales goals. The Assistant Manager integrates Lush’s Leadership Practices into all elements of business interactions with customers, fellow staff, and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the team to exceed daily sales goals and ensure a unique and inclusive customer experience.
• Educate customers and staff on brand values, including fighting animal testing, ethical buying, and handmade products.
• Increase product knowledge and make informed recommendations.
• Demonstrate business acumen and understanding of metrics and reports.
• Support the team on the sales floor, answer questions, and motivate them to meet sales goals.
• Own personal development and support the growth of the team through coaching.
• Ensure the team is inspired, motivated, and connected to brand values.
• Support staffing through networking, recruiting, hiring, and succession planning.
• Collaborate with the Manager on plans to improve staff engagement, retention, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with company standards for opening and closing, product integrity, and health and safety.
• Support the training of the inventory team and manage ordering.
• Maintain a clean and beautiful work environment and follow merchandising standards.
• Ensure proper scheduling, breaks, and meals for staff wellbeing and payroll accuracy.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of managing or supervising in a retail environment.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Strong customer service, supervisory, and sales skills.
• Knowledge and interest in skincare, natural beauty, and ethical business.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
