Job Description

OKX is seeking a MLRO for its OKCoin Europe (Malta) operations, based in Sliema, Malta. This role is responsible for leading and building a growing team, enhancing the financial crime compliance program, and monitoring local developments. The MLRO will report to the Head of Compliance EMEA, with matrix reporting to local management.

The role involves:

• Leading the financial crime compliance team, providing strategic direction and training.
• Developing and maintaining robust financial crime compliance policies and frameworks.
• Engaging cross-functionally with various teams to implement an effective compliance program.
• Monitoring compliance with Maltese and EU laws and regulations.
• Overseeing compliance reviews and investigations.
• Participating in Board committee meetings.
• Conducting and overseeing company training.
• Liaising with second and third line teams.
• Acting as the first point of contact for financial crime compliance issues.
• Preparing financial crime compliance reports.

OKX requires:

• 10+ years of experience in financial crime compliance within financial services, payments, fintech, or cryptocurrency sectors.
• Experience leading an effective financial crime compliance program in line with Malta/EU standards.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Previous experience as a MLRO or DMLRO, or equivalent senior compliance role.
• Knowledge of EU financial regulations and the Fifth Money Laundering Directive.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Enthusiasm for the crypto industry.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
