Job Description
Archer, an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, is seeking a Data Engineer to contribute to the design, manufacturing, and operations of their electric aircraft. The Data Engineer will play a critical role in supporting stakeholders across the organization by ensuring data is modeled, ingested, processed, stored, and queried effectively.Archer is dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces differences and supports all team members.What this role involves:
  • Architecting and constructing a comprehensive data warehouse.
  • Engaging with analytics teams and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
  • Developing and optimizing ETL/ELT processes, data models, and data architectures.
  • Developing novel applications from enterprise data to enable insights and decision making.
  • Implementing and maintaining robust data governance practices.
  • Leveraging big data technologies and tools for large-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Establishing and overseeing data quality monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Keeping up to date of the latest trends in data engineering and big data technologies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, with demonstrated expertise in both batch and near-real-time data processing.
  • Proficient in data processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, PySpark) and real-time data platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming).
  • Strong understanding of SQL and programming languages (Python, Java, Scala) with a solid foundation in machine learning algorithms and other data science fundamentals.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and a deep understanding of data security and quality governance.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both in written and verbal form, are essential for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
What Archer offers:
  • A base pay between $134,000 - $168,000.
