Job Description
Adyen is seeking a Security Detection and Monitoring Engineer to join their team in Amsterdam. Adyen is the financial technology platform of choice for leading companies like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft.This role focuses on Security Operations, Detection Engineering, Threat Detection, and Incident Response. The successful candidate will develop and maintain security solutions to improve detection capabilities within the Adyen ecosystem, automate manual tasks, and investigate security incidents. They will collaborate with security, product, development, and infrastructure teams to create meaningful detections and respond to triggered alerts.
Role Involves: - Creating scalable and actionable detection logic for emerging threats in Python.
- Developing new solutions to hunt, detect, and deal with threats.
- Operating and expanding Adyen's in-house built security event monitoring tool.
- Automating tasks to save colleagues' time and brainpower.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of attacker tools, techniques, and procedures.
- Building and owning security monitoring tooling.
- Participating in the Security Duty group rotation.
Requirements: - 3+ years of experience in Intrusion Detection, Detection Engineering, Threat Detection, or Incident Response.
- Proficiency in Operating System security (Linux/MacOS), Container Security, Network security, or SaaS/IaaS Security.
- Understanding of security detection and monitoring.
- Solid experience with Python and ability to translate complex detection logic into advanced code.
- Builder mindset with the ability to script, automate, and scope projects.
- Belief in a pragmatic and humane approach to security with strong communication skills.
