Associate Actuary, Third Party Reinsurance Management

Job Description

Global Atlantic Financial Group is seeking an Associate Actuary to join their Third-Party Reinsurance Management team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role will serve as a key contact for internal and external reinsurance queries related to both Life and Annuity products. The Associate Actuary will collaborate with various internal departments, including new business operations, product development, sales/marketing, corporate actuarial, legal, and senior management, as well as external partners such as the reinsurance third-party administrator and reinsurers.Responsibilities include:

• Oversight of work performed by the reinsurance TPA.
• Analyzing the financial impact of changes in reinsurance coverage and retention.
• Organizing and presenting postings to internal committees and senior management.
• Managing and supporting reinsurance captives.
• Providing product and system expertise related to reinsurance.
• Responding to escalated service and system issues relating to reinsurance.

Qualifications:

• Actuarial background with an ASA preferred.
• At least 5+ years of financial services industry experience.
• Experience with life and annuity product features is preferred.
• A proactive and independent approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
