Senior Analytics Engineer - Product (f/m/d)

Job Description

Contentful is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join their Product Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building analytics pipelines that deliver actionable user insights from product adoption data. This role involves collaborating with product analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to build robust data integrations across platforms like Salesforce, Gainsight, JIRA, and GitHub. The Senior Analytics Engineer's work will be pivotal in empowering data-driven decisions across the organization, significantly impacting product strategy and customer engagement.

Role involves:

• Converting existing product analyst queries and reports into efficient and maintainable analytics pipelines using dbt.
• Optimizing data for self-service analytics in Tableau.
• Taking ownership of medium-to-large analytics projects from scoping through implementation.
• Transforming and maintaining scalable product adoption datasets.
• Developing and managing data pipelines for exporting curated datasets from Redshift to platforms like Salesforce and Gainsight using reverse ETL tools (e.g., Hightouch).
• Owning end-to-end responsibility for ingesting key productivity data from platforms such as GitHub and JIRA into the data warehouse.
• Collaborating with Software Engineers and Product Analysts to define, manage, and approve event schemas in Segment.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer or similar role.
• Expert in building scalable, maintainable analytics pipelines using dbt, SQL, and Jinja.
• Skilled at optimizing datasets for fast, efficient querying in enterprise-scale data warehouses such as AWS Redshift.
• Practical knowledge of reverse ETL tools like Hightouch.
• Adept at working with product event data—defining schemas, validating inputs, and transforming raw events into structured analytics-ready formats.
• Confident when engaging with analysts, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
