Job Description

Cytokinetics, a biopharmaceutical company focused on muscle activators and inhibitors, is offering an internship for a Pharmacology Intern. This is a paid internship located at their South San Francisco headquarters, lasting approximately 12 weeks, beginning in late May/early June. The intern will collaborate with a Pharmacology Researcher to conduct and manage in vivo and in vitro experiments related to the efficacy of novel small molecule compounds for potential therapies of muscular degenerative diseases.Role involves:

• Conducting in vivo and in vitro experiments.
• Managing experiments related to drug efficacy.
• Working with small molecule compounds.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in basic lab skills (e.g., pipetting, preparing physiological buffers).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including data management and presentation.
• Coursework in biology and physiology.
• Prior animal handling experience is desirable, a willingness to learn to handle rodents is required.
