Sr. Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

Platform Science is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to help design and maintain reliable systems at scale in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have experience with AWS, Terraform, scripting, and automation. This role involves building foundational infrastructure, reducing toil, solving complex technical problems, mentoring other engineers, and contributing to architectural decisions.Responsibilities:

• Provide highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure
• Build foundational infrastructure for other teams
• Reduce toil through scripting and automation
• Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity
• Mentor other Engineers
• Identify challenges and propose solutions
• Define and improve standards for maintainability
• Contribute to architectural infrastructure decisions
• Participate in 24/7 on-call shift schedule

Requirements:

• 5+ years operational knowledge of AWS infrastructure
• 5+ years proven scripting abilities (e.g. bash, Python, Golang)
• Strong desire to automate and create standard frameworks
• 5+ years Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Terragrunt, Atlantis)
• 3+ years of Kubernetes and containerization best practices (EKS)
• 2+ years of experience with monitoring and observability of applications
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
• Emphasis on documentation and knowledge sharing
• Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
