Technical Designer (Men's)

Job Description

Fashion Nova is seeking a Technical Designer for Men's to join their Design & Development team. The Technical Designer will drive the execution of fit and construction standards from prototyping through production. He/She will partner with design, production, and vendor teams to ensure each Men’s style meets quality, fit, and brand expectations.Role involves:

• Measuring samples and preparing them for fitting.
• Checking construction and quality of product.
• Communicating fit and balance issues.
• Executing fit comments in a timely manner.
• Leading fit sessions on live models and dress forms.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Maintaining professional email correspondence with vendors.
• Identifying potential product, quality, and costing issues.
• Tracking and managing workflow and workload.

Requirements:

• Understanding in garment measuring, garment construction, quality control/assurance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Designer.
• Strong understanding of the apparel design and development process.
• Proficiency in fit, pattern making, grading, and technical drawing.
• Experience in leading live fittings.
• Knowledge as a technical designer for the junior market.
• Knowledge of preparing product specification sheets.
• Proficient computer skills, including Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to identify apparel flaws and production issues.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
