Putney, a black-owned advertising agency within BarkleyOKRP, is seeking a Freelance/Contract New Business Development Lead. This role is based in Chicago, IL, and offers an hourly salary plus commission, with the potential to convert to a full-time position.

The New Business Development Leader will be instrumental in identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing business development strategies, and building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive business development strategy.
  • Generating new leads through various channels.
  • Leading the development and presentation of pitches and proposals.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Conducting thorough market research.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure a cohesive approach.
  • Setting and tracking performance metrics and KPIs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the advertising or marketing industry.
  • Proven track record of securing new business and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong networking abilities and a robust industry network.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
