A high-growth fintech unicorn is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to revolutionize financial access in Nigeria and beyond. The company aims to build seamless, inclusive, and innovative financial products. The Senior UX Researcher will play a critical role in shaping the product strategy by uncovering insights into user needs and behaviors, especially within Nigeria. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are grounded in real user needs and market realities.
What this role involves:
- Leading and executing end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research.
- Employing various research methods, including interviews, ethnographic studies, and usability testing.
- Synthesizing complex data into actionable insights and frameworks.
- Conducting market and industry research to stay ahead of fintech trends in Nigeria.
- Partnering with product managers, designers, marketers, and engineers.
- Acting as the subject matter expert on Nigerian user needs.
- Advocating for research best practices and ethical standards.
- Structuring and scaling research operations.
- Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in UX research or product research, ideally with digital products and B2C fintechs; experience in or researching African markets is essential.
- Advanced expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with research tools such as UserTesting, UsabilityHub, Maze, Typeform, Google Forms, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Proven track record of translating insights into tangible frameworks.
- Deep understanding of Nigerian consumers.
- Ability to independently own and drive the strategy and execution of comprehensive research programs.
- Experience structuring and scaling research practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
