Job Description
Poppulo is seeking a Senior Manager, Platform Engineering to lead multiple software engineering teams responsible for the underlying platform, integrations, and operational data that powers their Employee Communication products. The Senior Manager will work closely with Product Managers and senior technical staff to deliver product priorities, manage technical debt, and advance the overarching architectural vision. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the teams.

Role involves:
  • Owning the applications and technology plan for applications within Platform Engineering.
  • Managing multiple teams of engineers in Software Development.
  • Driving the adoption of modern development methodologies and tools, including AI.
  • Monitoring initiative progress and addressing roadblocks.
  • Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of product software initiatives.
  • Managing and prioritizing tasks to reduce technical debt.
  • Ensuring joined-up delivery and management of commitments across engineering teams.
  • Serving as a point of escalation and providing solutions to problems.
  • Owning delivery within Engineering and representing team commitments.
  • Adopting lessons learned from retrospectives and experiments.
  • Ensuring sound development discipline and code quality.
  • Collaborating to develop a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Setting and evaluating goals, conducting performance reviews, and identifying training needs.
  • Leading the staffing strategy for the team.

  • 7+ years of technical leadership experience managing software development teams.
  • Experience in driving & delivering technical initiatives in partnership with Product Owners and/or Senior Engineers.
  • Great communication skills to work with the wider team and department.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring team members.
