Software Engineer, Android

Job Description

Notion is seeking a talented and experienced Android Software Engineer to join their team in San Francisco. Notion aims to make software toolmaking ubiquitous. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building high-quality apps, a strong understanding of the Android ecosystem, and a desire to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers and cross-functional partners.

The Software Engineer will work in person and is required to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

Responsibilities:

• Work with a team to build and maintain product features for the Android app.
• Improve the performance, reliability, and polish of the Android app.
• Work within the web stack to improve the mobile editor.
• Build and improve internal tools with simplicity and productivity in mind.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience working with a team to build and maintain quality Android apps for a large audience.
• Familiarity with Kotlin and experience handling UI, networking, and threading.
• Thoughtful problem-solving skills with a clear understanding of context.
• Willingness to learn and work on multiple tech stacks (Typescript, React).
• Pragmatic and business-oriented mindset with a focus on business impact.
• Ability to put users first and think critically about the implications of your work.
• Openness to new technologies and programming languages.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
