Lead Fraud Operations Analyst

Job Description

Apollo.io, a leading go-to-market solution provider, is seeking a Lead Fraud Operations Analyst. This role involves leading complex product abuse and fraud investigations, identifying vulnerabilities, and designing cross-team handling procedures. The Lead Analyst will also train support teams on verification procedures, perform technical product investigations, and analyze data to identify fraud patterns.Apollo.io is looking for someone with strong communication and prioritization skills to think outside the box and work independently.Responsibilities:

• Investigate customer-reported events like account takeover and abuse reports.
• Review and classify chargebacks related to fraud.
• Investigate volumetric alerts from fraud detection services.
• Perform attribution analysis of scaled fraud events using SQL/Python.
• Handle external brand abuse cases and takedowns.
• Build fraud event classification processes across Fraud, Security, Support, Billing, and Sales.
• Identify key data sources for investigation enhancements.
• Determine functional fraud vulnerabilities and partner with Product/Engineering for remediation.
• Review external fraud actor activity and use open-source intelligence.
• Design low-friction KYB/KYC verification procedures.
• Coach junior Fraud Analysts and support staff.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in fraud investigations or similar roles.
• Demonstrable SQL-based querying skills.
• Familiarity with chargebacks, disputes, and ACH.
• Familiarity with rules-based fraud rule development.
• Experience creating training on operational processes.
• Inquisitive and investigative nature.
• Willingness to work independently.
• Positive, learning mindset with a detail-oriented approach.
• Comfort with self-prioritization.
• Excitement about remote work.
• Good written and spoken English proficiency.
