Lead Fraud Operations Analyst

Apollo.io is seeking a Lead Fraud Operations Analyst to join their Fraud team. This role is remote and based in Canada. The analyst will conduct complex product abuse and fraud investigations, identify vulnerabilities, design handling procedures, and train support teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical product investigations, data analysis, and source-code review.Apollo.io is a leading go-to-market solution trusted by numerous companies globally. • Investigate customer-reported events, such as account takeover and abuse reports.
• Review and classify chargebacks and events related to fraud.
• Investigate volumetric and anomaly alerts from fraud detection services.
• Perform attribution analysis of scaled fraud events using data analysis (SQL/Python).
• Handle external brand abuse cases and takedowns.
• Build fraud event classification and retroactive analysis processes.
• Identify and incorporate key data sources for investigation enhancements.
• Determine functional fraud vulnerabilities and partner with Product/Engineering for remediation.
• Review external fraud actor activity and leverage open source intelligence techniques.
• Design low-friction KYB/KYC and asynchronous verification procedures.
• Coach and lead junior Fraud Analysts and non-subject matter experts.
• Collaborate with customer-facing Support staff on customer issues.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in fraud investigations or similar operations roles.
• Demonstrable SQL-based querying skills.
• Familiarity with chargebacks, disputes, and ACH.
• Familiarity with rules-based fraud rule development.
• Experience creating and providing training on complex operational processes.
• Inquisitive and investigative nature.
• Willingness to work independently and problem-solve.
• Positive, learning mindset with a detail-oriented, analytical approach.
• Comfort with self-prioritization.
• Excitement about working remotely.
• Good written and spoken English proficiency.
