ObjectVideo Labs, a subsidiary of Alarm.com, is seeking a Principal Research Scientist to join their expanding R&D team in Tysons, Virginia. This role involves driving research initiatives and contributing to groundbreaking discoveries in intelligent video analytics for smart home applications. The scientist will invent, refine, and adapt state-of-the-art techniques in computer vision and machine learning across edge and cloud computing platforms.ObjectVideo Labs offers a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment with opportunities for leadership, mentorship, and project oversight.Responsibilities:

• Engage in pioneering research in intelligent video analytics.
• Invent, refine, and adapt state-of-the-art techniques in computer vision and machine learning.
• Apply techniques across both edge and cloud computing platforms.
• Mentor junior team members and oversee complex projects.

Requirements:

• PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of work experience in a relevant field.
• Solid research background and experience in computer vision and deep learning.
• Proven programming skills in Python, C, C++, and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience managing technical team including research scientists and ML Engineering.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
