Job Description
HomeLight is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage past-due accounts and enhance the customer experience. The Collections Specialist will handle inbound and outbound calls, generate internal invoices, and set up payment arrangements. They will use customer service, communication, and negotiation skills to resolve late payments.
  • Communicating effectively with customers via phone and written correspondence
  • Resolving outstanding payment issues by negotiating and arranging payment plans
  • Accurately generating, managing, and tracking internal invoices
  • Maintaining detailed records of interactions and payment statuses
  • Building rapport and ensuring a positive customer experience through exceptional service
  • Utilizing tools like Google Sheets and online research tools to track and resolve issues
  • Navigating difficult conversations with composure and professionalism
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in collections (preferred)
  • A reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional home workspace
  • Excellent English speaking and written communication skills
  • Experience with HubSpot is a plus
  • Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail
  • A calm, empathetic, yet firm approach to customer engagement, especially in challenging situations
