Job Description
Betsson is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to play a crucial role in implementing the data governance strategy, enabling data democratization and fostering a data-driven culture. The Data Governance Specialist will oversee the implementation of the data governance strategy, including data and business catalogs, master data management, metadata management, and data classification. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Role involves:
  • Overseeing the implementation of the data governance strategy.
  • Ownership of the data governance tool.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Assisting in the development of data governance policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Assisting in the data maturity assessment.
  • Helping stakeholders grow in the data governance area through training plans, mentoring, and information sessions.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role involving data governance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience of building a data catalog including business glossary and business terms.
  • Broad knowledge of data quality, data integration, data lifecycle, databases and data warehousing solutions.
  • Experience with mapping data lineage.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations, including GDPR, and data security standards.
  • Experience in the iGaming industry is considered a plus.
  • Experience with data quality and data governance tools and methodologies, including data validation and profiling.
  • Experience with managing a Data Governance Tool (e.g. Collibra, Atlan, OvalEdge)
  • Familiarity with Data Integration tools such as Apache NiFi and orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
  • Proficiency with issue tracking tools like JIRA and documentation platforms like Confluence
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter mindset, analytical approach, and positive "can-do" attitude.
