Archer Aviation is seeking a Mass Properties Engineer to join their team in San Jose, California. This role is crucial for advancing sustainable air mobility by working on an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The ideal candidate will define and manage the mass properties program, track vehicle mass, and work with design teams to manage weight and balance.Archer is dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment, supporting all team members.What this role involves:

• Defining and managing the Mass Properties program plan.
• Building and maintaining the mass properties database.
• Tracking vehicle mass, CG, and inertia.
• Managing data maturity and identifying risks.
• Coordinating mass reduction initiatives.
• Supporting FAA certification activities.

What you need to apply:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related STEM field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Mass Properties Engineer.
• Experience weighing aircraft and creating FAA compliant reports.
• Experience working with multiple teams and suppliers.
• Experience executing a weight and balance program on a complex dynamic system.
