StockX is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their team in Detroit, MI. In this role, the Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end development of data engineering solutions to support the analytical needs of the business. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with disparate datasets and translating data into meaningful insights. This role involves partnering with accounting and finance business teams to expand the Financial Data Repository and manage changes for proper accounting.What this role involves:
Designing and building mission-critical data pipelines.
Improving ongoing reporting and analysis processes.
Building and supporting reusable frameworks for data ingestion and integration.
Automating data pipelines with metadata and data quality checks.
Building and supporting a big data platform on the cloud.
Defining and implementing automation of jobs and testing.
Optimizing data pipelines for ML workloads.
Supporting mission-critical applications and near real-time data needs.
Capturing and publishing metadata.
Collaborating with business analysts, product managers, and data scientists.
Participating in design and code reviews.
Mentoring other development team members.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in data warehouse / data lake house technical architecture.
3+ years of experience in programming languages (Python / Scala / Java / C#).
Minimum 3 years of Big Data and Big Data tools experience.
Minimum of 2 years' experience with AWS or other cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of Databricks SQL/Scala.
Experience with Database Architecture/Schema design.
Familiarity with batch processing and workflow tools such as dbt, AirFlow, NiFi.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong business mindset with customer obsession.
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
