Senior Model Maker

Job Description

Nothing, a London-based company known for its innovative tech products, is seeking a skilled and driven Senior Model Maker to join its Industrial Design team in Kings Cross, London. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for bringing product concepts to life through physical models. He/She will collaborate closely with designers and engineers to shape the look and feel of Nothing's products, contributing to a culture of creativity, excellence, and user-centered design.

Role Involves:

• Creating high-quality 3D models and prototypes using various materials, tools, and techniques.
• Painting and finishing models to convey design intent.
• Collaborating with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Using CAD software to adapt and propose changes to designs.
• Selecting appropriate materials and construction techniques.
• Performing quality control checks and troubleshooting issues.
• Operating and maintaining equipment.
• Maintaining a safe and organized workspace.

Requirements:

• Expert model making skills with a high level of precision and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in operating 3D printers, CNC machines, mills, lathes, and laser cutters.
• CAD proficiency and experience with both digital and handcrafting techniques.
• Excellent visual and verbal communication skills.
• Creative and collaborative problem-solving abilities.
• Intuitive appreciation for user-centered design.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and highly productive.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.
• Calmness under pressure.
• Proven experience as a model maker or in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, Modelmaking or a related field (preferred).
