Job Description

Clear Street is seeking a Director of Compensation to lead its compensation practices. This role requires a strategic advisor who can partner with business leaders and internal People Team members, while also executing the day-to-day operational aspects of building and maintaining a best-in-class, scalable compensation structure.

The Director of Compensation will be the subject matter expert for all compensation programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evolve a scalable compensation strategy and philosophy.
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate current compensation practices.
  • Develop and maintain a job title and leveling framework.
  • Lead annual compensation planning.
  • Participate in salary surveys and monitor the results.
  • Review existing compensation policies and processes.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and People Operations on compensation matters.
  • Maintain a positive employee experience.
  • Ensure HRIS data hygiene.
  • Generate reports and provide data analytics.
  • Collaborate with groups across the organization, particularly Finance.
  • Work on other ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in related HR roles, and at least 5 years of experience in broad-based compensation.
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking and survey participation.
  • Experience in job architecture and leveling design.
  • Experience with international markets.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, UKG is preferred.
  • Excellent business acumen.
  • Intermediate excel skills and HR analytics.
