Job Description
Solaris, a tech company with a full German banking license, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Identity & AFC product area. This role involves designing and maintaining core services that power compliant customer and business identity verification at scale. The successful candidate will work within a team responsible for the infrastructure behind KYC and Due Diligence processes, ensuring the banking platform meets Anti-Financial Crime regulations. They will also work on partner-facing APIs that initiate and orchestrate KYC workflows, building robust, reusable components for secure and scalable identity management.
Role Involves:
- Leading a cross-functional engineering team building cloud-native services for banking products.
- Designing and delivering scalable and secure backend systems.
- Driving engineering excellence through code quality, system reliability, observability, and performance.
- Collaborating with product and engineering peers to align technical decisions with business outcomes.
- Owning systems end-to-end from design to deployment to operations.
- Guiding architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy.
- Mentoring engineers and shaping team practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Go (preferred) and/or Ruby.
- Deep experience building and operating cloud-native applications on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Solid understanding of security best practices for backend and cloud-based services.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex systems with a mindset for operational excellence.
- Experience leading technical projects or teams (Tech Lead, Team Lead, or similar).
- Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives, balancing technical and product priorities.
- A thoughtful communicator and problem-solver.
