Principal Security Researcher

Job Description

Halcyon, a company focused on stopping ransomware, is seeking a Principal Security Researcher. The ideal candidate will analyze ransomware samples and threat actor tools to gain insights for future product features and validate current capabilities. This role involves reverse engineering, tool development, and collaboration with research teams.

Responsibilities:

• Reverse engineer malicious binaries.
• Develop tools to bypass software protection.
• Identify and develop proof-of-concept tools.
• Collaborate with research and data science teams.
• Share knowledge through presentations and blog posts.
• Write high-quality technical reports.

Requirements:

• Strong reverse-engineering skills for Windows binaries.
• Familiarity with Windows development practices and networking.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Ruby).
• Proficiency in compiled languages (C, C++, Rust).
• Experience auditing cryptographic algorithm implementations.
• Excellent communication skills.
