Job Description
Temporal Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Open Source Server team. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining backend functionality for highly scalable, multi-tenant services. The engineer will work on core Temporal, contributing to components like Quotas, Throttling, Visibility, Task Processing, and Matching.Temporal is building the best community and is looking for someone who shares their values, challenges 'standard' thinking, and wants to influence their future.What this role involves:- Designing and implementing core backend service features.
- Providing test coverage for unit, integration, and performance.
- Documenting design choices and operational knowledge.
- Providing service level logs and metrics.
- Creating alerts, dashboards, and runbooks for production.
- At least 6 years of experience in a production environment as an "Arranger" and/or "Builder/Enhancer" of highly scalable distributed systems.
- Solid computer science fundamentals in distributed systems concepts including multi-threading and concurrency.
- Experience writing concurrent code in production with languages like Go or Java.
- Experience working with Open Source Systems.
- Experience building and running services on AWS.
- Bonus: Microsoft Azure and Google GCP experience.
