Job Description
Similarweb is seeking a Director of R&D, Shopper Intelligence, to lead a fast-scaling, multidisciplinary product group. This role involves owning the technical and organizational direction of the team, guiding engineers and data scientists in building Similarweb’s Shopper Intelligence solution. The Director will collaborate with Product, Design, Business, and Go-To-Market teams to shape and execute a bold vision.
What this role involves:
- Defining and driving the technical vision and roadmap for the Shopper Intelligence R&D group.
- Leading cross-functional teams of full-stack engineers, data engineers, and data scientists.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to co-own product vision and long-term strategy.
- Overseeing the design and development of web-based applications and backend systems.
- Managing teams developing advanced machine learning models.
- Building and scaling teams, fostering a strong engineering culture.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in engineering leadership.
- Expertise in data-driven product development and full-stack engineering.
- Proficiency in Frontend (React, TypeScript, JavaScript), Backend (Node.js, NestJS, Python), and Data technologies.
- Experience with Cloud & DevOps tools (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD).
- Proven success delivering products that leverage ML/AI pipelines.
- Excellent analytical thinking and experience in data analysis.
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
