Senior Product Manager - API

Job Description

Auctane is seeking a Senior Product Manager to enhance the developer experience for its APIs, specifically ShipStation API and ShipEngine Connect. This role is based in Austin, Texas, and requires a hybrid work model (3 days in office). The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for the entire developer journey, from initial onboarding to successful integration. They will lead the strategy for developer-facing resources, including documentation, guides, and SDKs. The role involves collaborating with engineering, support, and partnerships to resolve integration issues and define metrics to measure developer success.What this role involves:

• Owning the full developer experience for our APIs.
• Leading strategy for developer-facing assets.
• Partnering with engineering, support, and partnerships.
• Defining metrics that reflect developer success.
• Collaborating with technical writers.
• Driving self-service improvements.
• Serving as an advocate for developers.
• Identifying gaps in the current experience.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in product management, with a focus on APIs or developer tools.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, authentication flows, webhooks, and the full integration lifecycle.
• A track record of improving developer-facing documentation, tooling, or onboarding.
• Comfort working across teams and with technical stakeholders.
• A data-driven approach with the ability to define success metrics and drive adoption.
• Strong communication skills, especially when working with technical content.
