Job Description
Angi is seeking a detail-oriented Licensing Researcher to join its newly-formed Licensing Research Team. This team plays a crucial role in identifying, documenting, and interpreting licensing requirements for service professionals across the United States. The Licensing Researcher will investigate licensing requirements at the state, county, and city levels for various trades and translate findings into clear, structured outputs to support legal, product, and operations teams.

Role involves:
  • Researching licensing requirements across federal, state, and local governments.
  • Translating research into actionable license requirements.
  • Tracking down hard-to-find information through creative tactics.
  • Making well-reasoned judgment calls when licensing requirements are ambiguous.
  • Maintaining structured documentation using internal tools and templates.
  • Collaborating with the research manager and other team members.

Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in research, compliance, legal support, public policy, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret government regulations and websites.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making logical, well-documented judgments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage your own workload in a remote environment.
  • Familiarity with construction, trades licensing, permitting, or municipal government processes (Bonus).
