Job Description
Upgrade is seeking a detail-oriented Entry-Level Underwriter to join its Verifications team in Phoenix. The successful candidate will assist customers with the loan application process, ensuring accurate review, processing, and decisioning of applicant loans. This role involves reviewing financial and identifying documents, assisting applicants over the phone, gathering additional documents, and verifying financial information. The role involves:
- Processing personal consumer loan applications
- Providing customer service via inbound and outbound calls
- Answering customer service requests
- Becoming an expert on Upgrade's products and processes
- Adapting to changing policies and procedures
- Reviewing financial documents
- Verifying and calculating customer income
- Detecting fraudulent loan applications
- Meeting production, quality, and customer service goals
Upgrade is looking for candidates who have:
- 1+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or a related industry
- Previous contact center experience
- A college degree (preferred)
- Ability to calculate financial information accurately
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- A high level of integrity
- A team-oriented mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills

- Proficiency with Google Workspace
