Retool is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and bridge the gap between engineering excellence and customer impact. The Engineering Manager will shape Retool’s product direction, balancing execution with long-term thinking. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a product that aligns with user needs and business objectives. The Engineering Manager will play a critical role in shaping the engineering culture at Retool, emphasizing continuous learning and high standards for quality.Role involves:
- Communicating and collaborating with Product and Design counterparts
- Managing a fullstack team of engineers
- Meeting with customers to better understand product sentiment
- Introducing scalable, repeatable processes
- Partnering with recruiting on building out a diverse team
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience successfully leading and managing teams
- Strong ability to champion an engineering team through macro process changes
- Deep technical understanding
- History of orienting teams and setting strategy toward engineering goals
- Experience successfully recruiting, building, and scaling teams
- A propensity to operate as a business-owner
- Thoughtfulness around engineering culture, process, and identity
- Proficiency in navigating through ambiguity, managing stakeholders, communicating in a structured manner, as well as driving maximal accountability and excellence
- A collaborative skillset to partner effectively with product, design, and go-to-market teams
