Established Category Buyer - Women's Trend

Job Description

THE ICONIC is seeking an experienced Category Buyer - Women's Trend to join their commercial team in Sydney. The Category Buyer will support the department strategy, vision, and budget planning, assisting in the purchasing and procurement of goods. This role involves driving sales, maximizing profit, and managing intake to ensure the ranges engage THE ICONIC customer.

The Category Buyer will report to the Senior Category Buyer and play a pivotal role in shaping the women's trend category, curating a selection that reflects the latest trends and meets customer needs.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting market research to stay updated with the latest trends and products.
• Monitoring inventory levels to maintain adequate stock.
• Evaluating vendor performance and assisting in vendor selection.
• Negotiating favorable contract terms for commission-based and OTB-based vendors.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Analyzing data to interpret trends and propose informed decisions.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
• Collaborating with marketing to identify promotional opportunities.
• Developing strategic roadmaps according to commercial strategies.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Buyer in a high-volume business.
• Proficiency in Excel reporting (including pivot tables and v-lookups).
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills.
• A strong team player.
• A passion for women's fashion.
