Rocket Lab is seeking a Systems Certification Engineer II to lead the planning, implementation, and execution of certification activities for the Neutron launch vehicle. The engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to meet customer requirements and ensure compliance for NASA crewed missions and other U.S. Government agencies. This role is based in Long Beach, CA.Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, building rockets and satellites that enable ambitious space missions. The company's Electron rocket has provided reliable access to orbit since 2018, and Neutron will be its next reusable rocket.
What this role involves: - Analyzing government and commercial customer requirements.
- Leading the verification and validation process.
- Defining the scope of technical certification efforts.
- Engaging with NASA and other U.S. Government customers.
- Collaborating with Neutron technical departments.
- Organizing and supporting program reviews and technical interchange meetings.
- Ensuring product deliveries are on schedule.
- Supporting government on-site representatives.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
- Technical background in Avionics, Flight Software, GN&C, Propulsion, Structures/Statics, Thermal environments, Dynamic environments, Loads, and/or Mechanical/Fluid Systems.
- Technical project management experience.
