Anthropic is seeking a Research Scientist to join its Multimodal team, focusing on building and studying multimodal AI models. The ideal candidate will contribute to understanding and mitigating risks associated with powerful multimodal AIs. This role involves working across various aspects of a large stack, including training, inference, system design, and data collection.
Responsibilities include: - Developing new architectures for modeling multimodal data.
- Working on infrastructure projects such as complex multimodal reinforcement learning environments and high-performance RPC servers.
- Developing tooling to collect, process, and clean multimodal data at scale.
The ideal candidate should have: - Significant software engineering experience.
- A results-oriented mindset with a bias towards flexibility and impact.
- A willingness to pick up slack and enjoy pair programming.
- An interest in learning more about machine learning research.
- Care about the societal impacts of their work.
Strong candidates may also have experience with: - High performance, large-scale ML systems.
- GPUs, Kubernetes, Pytorch, or OS internals.
