Job Description
GiveDirectly is seeking a Senior Manager, Research to evaluate its ambitious program in Malawi. This role involves a multi-year research initiative focused on the impacts of cash transfers to individuals in extreme poverty. The evaluation centers on a large randomized controlled trial (RCT) and is complemented by ongoing monitoring and evaluation (M&E), qualitative research, and rapid pulse data collection.
What this role involves:
- Designing and managing research plans and strategy for Malawi’s national scale efforts.
- Leading time-sensitive ad hoc initiatives.
- Serving as focal point for managing all internal and external aspects of one RCT.
- Owning research element of high level stakeholder management for Malawi project.
- Holding final responsibility for accuracy of all research data, plans, and external/internal information shared.
- Serving as manager of a research team of 16.
Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of experience in research, impact evaluation, or a related analytical role.
- Strong ability to translate complex research data into compelling narratives for external audiences.
- Familiarity with impact evaluation methods and the ability to interpret and summarize research findings.
- Familiarity with data collection tools (SurveyCTO, Commcare) data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Stata, R, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g. Adobe, Canva, Flourish).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple workstreams.
What GiveDirectly offers:
- A base salary of $79,500.00 for the Malawi location.
