Job Description

Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join their Recommendations Squad in Berlin. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing recommendation algorithms, building scalable APIs, and integrating various systems into Lightspeed's hospitality commerce platform. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to create personalized user experiences.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems using Python.
• Implementing and optimizing recommendation algorithms.
• Developing and maintaining robust APIs and microservices.
• Working with data engineers and machine learning teams to process large datasets.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Python.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance optimization, and distributed systems.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL or DynamoDB.
• Knowledge of monitoring applications for performance and reliability.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
