Job Description
Scale is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to architect its internal knowledge ecosystem. The Senior Technical Writer will lead the transformation of the company's fragmented content repository into a centralized, user-friendly knowledge center. The role involves bridging the gap between technical documentation and operational understanding, ensuring that all information is clear, consistent, and accessible to a diverse audience, including engineers, ML researchers, and all operations teams. This role requires strong leadership and cross-functional work, driving the creation of a streamlined knowledge sharing environment, empowering teams across all BUs and reducing reliance on direct engineering support.
Role involves:
- Leading restructuring and organization of our internal knowledge base.
- Designing and implementing a comprehensive information architecture, ensuring intuitive navigation and discoverability.
- Content maintenance. Regularly review and update documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance, and implement feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Establishing and enforcing writing style guides, templates, and best practices for all technical documentation.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (engineering, ML research, and all operations teams) to gather, synthesize, and translate complex technical information into clear, actionable documentation.
Ideally, candidate has:
- Strong technical background (bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field)
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a technology or software development environment.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing information architecture for large-scale knowledge repositories (e.g., Confluence, Google Workspace).
- Strong understanding of technical documentation principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
