Job Description
Archer Aviation is seeking a Staff BMS Test & Integration Engineer to join their team in San Jose, California. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for integrating and testing software and hardware designs for Archer’s high voltage battery management and charging systems. They will verify its functionality, enabling the use of electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft for urban air mobility.   • Developing and executing comprehensive test plans for BMS hardware, software, and full system integration.
  • Championing integration activities, coordinating with system and software teams.
  • Building and maintaining test fixtures, harnesses, and bench setups.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving cross‑domain issues in the lab.
  • Analyzing CAN data logs to understand software functionality.
  • Maintaining traceability between requirements, design artifacts, and test results.
  • Collaborating closely with powertrain, and systems integration teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in hardware and software integration testing.
  • Strong ability to read and debug schematics, circuit layouts, and firmware drivers.
  • Knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Hands‑on proficiency with mechanical assembly and electrical instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with microcontroller peripheral interfaces.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python) for test automation, data analysis, and fixture control.
  • Experience with requirement‑management and test‑management tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills, clear written and verbal communication, and a collaborative mindset.
What Archer offers:
  • A base pay between $163,000 - $204,000.
