Job Description

Forter is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to spearhead the technical strategy and architecture of its unified onboarding platform. This platform is crucial for connecting merchants to Forter’s products, enabling efficient integration through automation, smart tooling, and a modern developer experience. The role involves leading the technical direction of the team, mentoring engineers, and driving initiatives to reduce onboarding complexity.

The Onboarding Experience team at Forter focuses on building a self-service integration platform that simplifies the process for merchants. This includes guiding developers through API calls, enabling data mapping from vendors like Stripe and Adyen, ingesting historical data in various formats, and validating integrations through Forter’s Integration Center UI.

What this role involves:

• Architecting and evolving a scalable onboarding platform.
• Driving the technical vision and long-term roadmap.
• Leading initiatives to make Forter’s integration experience a strategic differentiator.
• Providing technical mentorship and guidance to engineers.
• Collaborating with Product, Go-To-Market, and other internal stakeholders.

What the candidate needs:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience as a senior or staff engineer in product-facing teams.
• Proficiency in modern web technologies like JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and GraphQL.
• Expertise in designing scalable systems and developer-facing tools.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
